Mirna Jukic - Rekord aberkannt!

Die Nachricht traf ein wie ein Blitz! Der Europarekord von österreichst schnellster Schwimmhoffnung, passionierte biber-Leserin im übrigen, Mirna Jukic wird ofiziell aberkannt. Aus welchem Grund? Keine Sorge, die Schuld liegt nicht bei der Athletin, sondern beim Österreichischen Schwimmverband (www.voes.or.at). Dieser ließ in den letzten 30 Jahren nie das Becken vermessen und schlittert deswegen jetzt in eine Blamage. Das Becken musste also, bevor der Rekord amtlich wird, pro forma vermessen werden. Zur großen Überraschung aller Beteiligten ist die geschwommene Länge 49,96m und damit 2cm kürzer als erlaubt (+/- 2cm werden toleriert). Ganz schön peinlich, wenn man bedenkt, dass die Nachricht vom Europarekord um den Globus ging. Also alles zurück, Mirna ist noch immer sehr schnell, aber "nur" mehr wieder die fünftschnellste aller Zeiten über 200m Brust. Der OSV wird in Zukunft mehr Wert auf Centimeterarbeit legen. (Diese Tätigkeit hat er in den vergangenen Jahrzehnten auch nicht aufsühren müssen, schließlich hatte Österreich kaum SchwimmerInnen, die in Rekordzeiten einschlugen - deswegen die Routinevermessung nie stattfand. Ein Luxusproblem sozusagen.)
Und zu guter Letzt freuen wir uns auf einen neurlichen Rekord von Mirna. Da winkt als Belohnung olympisches Edelmetall und nicht nur eine österreichische Meisterschaft. Hoffen wir nur, dass die Chinesen etwas genauer beim Vermessen sind.

Was ich besonders lustig
