biber: Ungewöhnlich: Eine türkische Hauptschullehrerin hat einen Fashion-Blog. Wie ist das passiert?
MELEK: Ich liebe Fashion, immer schon. Als Kind habe ich viel gezeichnet und wollte am liebsten in die Modeschule gehen. In Österreich habe ich das vermisst, was in anderen Ländern in England oder Niederlanden alltäglich ist – stillvoll gekleidete Kopftuchträgerinnen. Ich bewundere Bloggerinnen wie Winnie Datwa aus den USA oder Asia Akf aus Qatar und wollte es ihnen gleichmachen.
Mode und Kopftuch – passt das überhaupt zusammen?
Selbst meine Verwandten finden, dass das Kopftuch nicht stylisch sein kann. Ich sehe das anders. Solange ich nicht supersexy herumlaufe, möchte ich einfach schön sein. Ich unterwerfe mich nicht den modischen Trends, da müsste ich Mini-Rock tragen und viel mehr mit den weiblichen Reizen spielen.
Aber enge Jeans und High-Heels sind ok?
MELEK: Der Po muss natürlich bedeckt sein. Und High-Heels, das ist so eine Sache. Einerseits ziehe ich sie gerne an, andererseits ist es mir peinlich, wenn die Leute mir nachschauen. Ich möchte nicht, dass sie denken: „Oh, die will, dass man sie anschaut.“ Also zieh ich High-Heels nur mehr abends an. (lacht)
Wo ziehst du deine modischen Grenzen?
Die Haare und das Dekolleté müssen verdeckt sein, auch das meiste vom Hals. Der halbe Unterarm kann frei sein, Füße und Knöchel genauso. Es gibt auch Grenzen, die sich nicht so leicht festmachen lassen. Wenn ich mir selbst in den Spiegel schaue und denke: Diese Farbkombination ist jetzt „too much“ - dann ist das auch eine Grenze.
Was willst du mit deinem Blog erreichen?
Jeder sollte mit einem gewissen Selbstbewusstsein in die Welt gehen. Ich denke, gerade für muslimische Frauen, die oft unterdrückt werden, ist das Auftreten sehr wichtig. Sie sollen sich schön fühlen und zeitgemäß kleiden, ohne dabei super sexy auszusehen. Nicht immer im langen Mantel. Kleider machen nun mal Leute. Deswegen mache ich mich schön. Nur für mich selber, nicht dafür, Komplimente zu kriegen. Und für andere Frauen, die es mir nachmachen.
Das Styling bei unserem Mode-Shooting (Siehe S. )hat dir sichtlich gefallen. Warum hängst du deinen Job als Lehrerin nicht an den Nagel und wirst Moderedakteurin?
MELEK: Ich mag meinen Lehrer-Beruf sehr. Außerdem sind die Schüler so lieb, sie sagen: „Frau Lehrerin, wir lieben Sie, weil Sie die stylishste Lehrerin sind, die wir haben!“ Mode bleibt meine Leidenschaft.

Und alle klatschen freudig.

Ich trage einen Hijab, bin 17 Jahre alt und komme aus dem Irak. Wenn man über Hijab redet dann soll man sich locker und unauffällig anziehen und keine Reize zeigen. Der einzige Unterschied ist, dass sie ein Tuch am Kopf hat!!! Wie sich Melek anzieht, ist kein bedecken im Islam und überhaupt sollte sich eine bedeckte muslimische Frau nicht zur Schau zeigen. Ich verstehe euch, das Biber-Team vollkommen nicht, wieso am Titelblatt "Hijabi Style" steht??? Und das dass nicht islamisch ist. Ich hoffe, dass viele junge Mädchen sie nicht als Vorbild nehmen und sich nach dem richtigen Hijab anziehen!!!
